Workshop: Stamped Reversible Enamel Necklace
July 9, Sunday
Instructor: Jen Townsend
Learn the art of copper enameling while you make a reversible necklace. We will cover basic sifting and stamping techniques with access to over 40 enamel colors. You will be firing your pieces in a 1500 degree kiln, multiple times, to allow the powdered glass enamel to fuse to the copper surface. Because this is a reversible necklace, you will have two surfaces to get creative with and use different colors on. Sterling silver chains will be provided so you can have a finished handmade necklace ready to wear home! This necklace can be worn two different ways - it's like having two necklaces in one!
All materials and tools will be provided.
Class is open to any student ages 16+.
There are 4 spots in this workshop.
For your safety, closed toe shoes are required for this workshop.
If you find you are unable to attend a class, and notify us within 3 or more days from the scheduled class date, we cannot offer a refund but we will credit your payment towards a future registration fee. Due to the small class sizes and demand for each seat, credit cannot be offered for cancellations made less than 3 days from the scheduled class time.
Please allow extra time for parking as it does get busy on Grandview Avenue in the evenings and on weekends. Street parking can be found along Grandview Avenue. There is also a large parking lot directly across the street from The Smithery, located behind Spagio and Staufs. Additionally, the parking lot behind Grandview Carryout at the corner of Grandview Avenue and 3rd is an option as well as the parking lot near the post office, further down Grandview Avenue.
