Workshop: Botanical Enamel Decal Necklace
July 23, Thursday
1 - 4pm
Instructor: Jen Townsend
Learn the art of copper enameling while you make a cute botanical necklace. We will cover basic sifting techniques with access to a large selection of colors. You will be firing your pieces in a 1500 degree kiln to allow the powdered glass enamel to fuse to the copper surface. You will have two surfaces to get creative with and use different colors on. Choose one side to apply and fuse a permanent sepia enamel decal. We have dozens of different flowers, leaves and other botanical motif decals.
Silver or gold plated chains will be provided so you can have a finished handmade necklace ready to wear home!
All materials and tools will be provided.
Class is open to any student ages 16+.
Four spots are available for this class.
For your safety, closed toe shoes are required for this workshop.
If you find you are unable to attend a class, and notify us within 3 or more days from the scheduled class date, we cannot offer a refund but we will credit your payment towards a future registration fee. Due to the small class sizes and demand for each seat, credit cannot be offered for cancellations made less than 3 days from the scheduled class time.
Please allow extra time for parking as it does get busy on Grandview Avenue in the evenings and on weekends. Street parking can be found along Grandview Avenue. There is also a large parking lot directly across the street from The Smithery, located behind Spagio and Staufs. Additionally, the parking lot behind Grandview Carryout at the corner of Grandview Avenue and 3rd is an option as well as the parking lot near the post office, further down Grandview Avenue.
