Workshop: Bird Silhouette Enamel Necklace
November 4th, Sunday
1 - 4pm
Instructor: Jen Townsend
Learn the art of copper enameling while you make your own unique bird necklace. We will cover basic sifting techniques with access to a large selection of colors. You will be firing your pieces in a 1500 degree kiln to allow the powdered glass enamel to fuse to the copper surface. You will have two surfaces to get creative with so you have a reversible necklace
Choose one side to apply and fuse a permanent black bird decal. We have a varierty of different bird decals to choose from.
You will finish the necklace off with a sterling silver chain and have a new handmade necklace to wear home!
All materials and tools will be provided.
Class is open to any student ages 16+.
Five spots are available for this class.
For your safety, closed toe shoes are required for this workshop.
Please allow extra time for parking, as it does get busy on Grandview Avenue in the evenings and weekends. Street parking can be found along Grandview Avenue. There is also a large parking lot directly across the street from The Smithery, located behind Spagio and Staufs. Additionally, you may park in the lot behind The Grandview Carryout at the corner of Grandview & 3rd, or the parking lot between the Post Office and Figlio.
Due to the small class sizes and demand for each seat, if you are unable to attend a class for any reason, please notify us as soon as possible to allow another student to register for the class.
Please note, we cannot offer refunds for student cancellations, but we can offer credit to be applied toward a future workshop based on the timeframe in which you have notified us of your cancellation.
Workshop cancellations are decided three days before the start date. In the rare event that The Smithery must cancel a workshop due to insufficient enrollment, currently enrolled students will have the option to have the entire class fee refunded or held as credit for future workshops.
