The ceramic vessel has been my focus as a maker. I almost exclusively pinch and coil my pots. I find this process organic, slow, and methodical and appreciate the evidence of touch left behind in the surface. I am intrigued by combinations of patterning such as the play of polka dots juxtaposed by prints reminiscent of elegance and formality. The surfaces are eccentrically patterned with layers of pigment, glaze and luster. The elaborate surfaces paired with exploration of form and adornments are critical to my work. I am constantly altering my work, experimenting every step of the way as the vessels come to life between my fingers and in the palms of my hands.
