Below are some additional details that may clarify some questions you may have.
Is The Smithery closing?
We will be transitioning from our brick and mortar retail location to a new studio space later this year. The Smithery is not closing, it is just changing.
- Our retail store on Grandview Ave will be closing mid-June.
- The new studio will offer appointment shopping beginning fall of 2021.
- Our website will continue to be available for shopping without interruption.
Can I still buy The Smithery jewelry once the brick and mortar is closed?
Beginning in July, and moving forward The Smithery will exclusively focus on the collaborative jewelry that we make together, including a line of bespoke wedding jewelry. We can't wait to regularly share new collections and designs with you!
How will I purchase items from The Smithery after June 2021?
Our website will be available for shopping 24/7 without interruption, with frequent updates. We plan to offer private shopping appointments in our studio beginning in the fall of 2021, and once it is safe to do so we will be doing in-person and pop up shopping events.
Where is the new studio located?
Details will be announced once we are resettled in the new space. We can't wait to share the news with you! The Smithery will still be in Columbus!
What if I have a gift card or store credit?
Don't worry, your gift card or store credit will not expire once the retail location closes. You will still be able to use your credit to purchase jewelry from The Smithery website, at a shopping appointment, or an in-person event.
- If you'd like to purchase an item made by another artist that is currently represented in our store, you will need to make this purchase prior to our store closing mid-June.
How do I use my store gift card on the website?
If you have a physical gift card, issued in store, that you would like to use to make a purchase online simply email us with your gift card number and items you would like to purchase and we can handle it from there. Unfortunately, there currently isn't a direct way through our online checkout to make a payment with a gift card - but emailing us is an easy workaround and we will be quick to assist you.

Will you be teaching your Private Wedding Band Workshop in the new studio?

Will you be teaching group classes in the new studio?
Due to the pandemic, we stopped teaching group classes in March of 2020 for the safety of everyone. We have made the decision to no longer teach general jewelry classes moving forward, so that we can focus on developing The Smithery's bespoke jewelry line. We are so humbled that so many students have taken and enjoyed our classes over the years.
